Nestled between Ontario and Saskatchewan is a province waiting to be discovered. Especially by RV owners and renters. Manitoba Provincial Parks are the perfect place to explore because it’s a laid back province with a lot of nature to see.

You’ll be amazed at how little city there is, and how much greenery there is. Maybe you’re coming from a big city to visit Manitoba, or maybe you love the nature life. Either way, you and your RV will be very happy. This is definitely the only guide you need to Manitoba Provincial Parks!

       Spruce Woods Provincial Park

Best time to visit: Spruce Woods Provincial Park is open from mid-May to early September, so the best time to visit is anywhere in between that! The peak months for RV camping are July and August, and you’ll definitely want to visit Spruce Woods Provincial Park in the busiest times. Spruce Woods Provincial Park has so many different vibes to it. There are sand dunes, hiking trails, ponds, but it’s most described as a ‘desert-like area’.

RV hookups available: No, but RVs are welcome.

Things you must do at Spruce Woods Provincial Park: You absolutely need to hike Devils Punch Bowl. One minute you’re on the sand dunes, and the next minute all you see is green. If you’re a horse lover, they have a campground called Equestrian campground that you can stay at! You can also bike, swim, fish, and even go on wagon rides!

Tips: Any type of camping is allowed here, whether it’s needing one site or group camping. Just make sure to book in advance.

       Whiteshell Provincial Park

Best time to visit: Luckily, Whiteshell Provincial Park is open all year round! However, you’ll definitely want to stay during the summertime so you can see the beauty of the Provincial Park. There are 10 campgrounds that you can camp in at Whiteshell, most of which have electrical sites. If you’re looking for a more low key vacation, the quiet beaches here will treat you to just that.

RV hookups available: Yes!

Things you must do at Whiteshell Provincial Park: Whiteshell Provincial Park has some of the most stunning waters in all of Manitoba. Plan multiple beach days so you and your friends and family can stay by the water or play water sports! If you’re not one to sit down on vacation, don’t worry. They have a ton of hiking trails, places to play tennis, and even mountain biking available!

Tips: There is a reservation fee of $7.65 when you reserve a campground at Whiteshell. You don’t have to reserve a site, but it is first come first serve.

       Birds Hill Provincial Park

Best time to visit: The park is open all year round, but July is the best time to visit. Why? Each year, Birds Hill Provincial Park hosts the Winnipeg Folk Festival, so you’re killing two birds with one stone! You can have an amazing camping trip and catch some music as well. Other than that, it’s the perfect time to walk or hike the trails, or bring your bicycle to get some exercise in.

RV hookups available: Yes!

Things you must do at Birds Hill Provincial Park: There are great beaches that you will want to relax at, but there are way more things to do than just sit. At the campsites they have mini golf, horseshoes, tennis courts, and roller blading trails! Pack up a lunch and take it to one of many picnic sites. There is also a restaurant and beach concession store at the campground.

Tips: Reservations open up between April and May, but the reservations end on Thanksgiving weekend.

       Turtle Mountain Provincial Park

Best time to visit: Since the lakes are crystal clear and ready for boating, the best time to visit Turtle Mountain Provincial Park is definitely in the summer months! At one of the campgrounds, you can also go windsurfing. So bring the whole family because the amount of activities you’ll be presented with is amazing!

RV hookups available: A few of the campgrounds offer basic camping, but Adam Lake has RV hookups.

Things you must do at Turtle Mountain Provincial Park: There are a ton of hiking trails in this Provincial Park, but one of them takes you high up to The Turtle's Back Tower. The tower gives you panoramic views that will leave you breathless. It’s also the perfect place to spot wildlife, which is always exciting.

Tips: The campgrounds are a little smaller, so if you’re looking to take your large family here, you may want to rent a couple of campsites.
